HOSPITAL FIRE MARSHALS' ASSOCIATION
The Hospital Fire Marshals' Association, Inc. (HFMA) is a totally volunteer organization of more than 400 members who are interested in preserving safety and security of everyone walking through the doors of a healthcare or educational facility.
The HFMA has been serving hospitals and other healthcare institutions since 1968 with education, training and resources promoting professional development and security in healthcare facilities. Educational institutions were added to the agenda in 1990.
Low annual membership dues entitle the HFMA member to the following benefits:
Luncheon meetings are held at a different facility each month, with informative speakers addressing current topics.
Incipient Fire Brigade training designed to meet the standards of the National Fire Protection Association and OSHA is offered twice a year.
Monthly meetings and full day seminars provide the HFMA membership with the information needed to meet the regulatory requirements and standards of OSHA, Joint Commission, CMS, NFPA, local fire departments, and FEMA.
A monthly newsletter by and for the members addresses current topics of interest.
All members are included in the HFMA email network to exchange questions and answers.
A number of $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually to members of to their immediate family members enrolled in college.
A free video lending library of up-to-date safety related videos is available to the membership.
